Bio

Kelli Sholer has been an undergraduate advisor in the Anthropology and Sociology departments since 2014 and has 11 years of overall academic advising experience at UC Davis. She received her M.S. degree in Counseling with a specialization in career counseling and generally uses approaches such as happenstance learning theory in her work with students. She has specific enthusiasm for helping students make meaningful connections between their unique interests, values, and skills as they navigate their academic and career goals. She also has facilitated a 2 unit course that helps students reflect on their career development process. Kelli is also a MBTI (Myers-Briggs) certified practitioner and enjoys administering this personality assessment via group workshops to help students gain more self-knowledge in their academic/career exploration. Kelli appreciates collaborating with colleagues as part of the campus-wide Advisor Training and Professional Development task force, which serves the campus advising community in developing professional development and training opportunities.
